* Halloween on Nantucket

Posted on November 7th, 2008 by admin. Filed under Community Events.

Nantucket celebrates Halloween with enthusiasm. You will see people in costume during the day in stores, at the post office, driving cars, and just around. At sunset, goblins, witches, characters from Star Wars, and this year even an eyeball, gather at the foot of main street around the fountain, and wait for the parade to begin. At dusk, the parade begins, and winds its way to the Methodist Church where everyone files up to the communion rail for the judging of the costumes.

After costume judging there is trick-or-treating around town, and events at the fire station for the young. Later, when the children have returned home, the adults get into the swing of things with home parties or popular gatherings at various watering holes.

* Greek Revival in Nantucket Town now available for 2009 Summer Rental

Posted on November 3rd, 2008 by admin. Filed under Houses on Nantucket, Vacation Rentals.

The owners of the Greek Revival house at Union Street, mentioned below, have instructed us to remove the house from the “for sale” market, and to list it as a vacation rental for the summer of 2009. This property can be rented as a single house or with a 2 bedroom guest house – It’s your choice. There is one parking space per house, so you rent both you have two spaces. This is great news for a family looking for a great vacation rental in Downtown Nantucket. The rental listing will be posted at Chatfield-Taylor Real Estate soon!
